The universal Epoque Quartet will be taking listeners from Manhattan to the Argentine tango and the swinging guitar of Django Reinhardt. Also adding to the relaxed atmosphere of the concert at the Bořislavka Centre will be music by the quartet’s own members, who play with the precision of classical musicians, the lightness of jazz artists, and the energy of a rock band.

Bohuslav Martinů: Duo for Violin and Cello No. 2, H. 371
Leoš Janáček: Piano Sonata 1.X. 1905 (From the Street on 1 October 1905)
Johannes Brahms: Piano Trio No. 1 in B Major, Op. 8
All three parts of this early evening concert at the Bořislavka Centre are sophisticated, profound, and entertaining. This is also true of the Janáček Piano Sonata, although the event behind its creation was a tragedy at a demonstration in Brno for a second Czech university. From the humour of Martinů and the drama of Janáček, the programme moves on to the sweeping melodies of Brahms.
